Prevent CRNAs from administering anesthesia without board-certified supervision

HonorHealth has been at the forefront of quality patient care. The system’s rigorous credentialling process seeks to provide the utmost protection for our patient community. As part of that protection, the HonorHealth bylaws have sought to provide validation as to the qualifications of practitioners working within the HonorHealth system. Credentialing has always been performed based upon knowledge, training and experience of the practitioner, not based upon political expediency or financial considerations. For example, HonorHealth has recently been a leader during the COVID pandemic crisis holding steadfast to the guidelines for vaccines and testing, and has continued to protect and advocate for safe reproductive healthcare in our community. Some hospital systems seek to maximize profits as their primary objective, much like healthcare insurance companies. In seeking to maximize profits, hospital systems often cave to forceful pressure and even fraudulent misrepresentation by nurses with PhDs as medical doctors, or in this case, CRNAs as medical doctors -with out medical school, residency, board certification and medical licensure. Everyone loses in the long run as this is a time tested battle that has been studied extensively. Complications, poor outcomes and lost lives of loved ones can severely damage a hospital’s reputation.Anesthesiologists are physicians who have more than twice the education and 10-12 x the clinical training hours than CRNAs. CRNAs are not trained to practice medicine or provide anesthesia care without physician direction. Anesthesiology is the practice of medicine, not nursing. The importance of physician involvement during anesthesia care was reiterated in a 2018 World Health Organization-World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WHO- WFSA) article stating anesthesia is complex and hazardous and its administration “requires a high level of expertise in medical diagnosis, pharmacology, physiology, and anatomy...and views anesthesiology as a medical practice.” Death rates are 2.5/1000 higher with CRNAs within 30 days of admission and failure to rescue death rates are higher by 6.9/1000 with a complication with unsupervised CRNAs. The most recent study in JAMA 7-2022 looked at a data set consisting of 866,453 operations, in which 1,960 anesthesiologists provided care in 23 different hospitals with different CRNA staffing ratios and as the physician anesthesiologist involvement decreased, the 30 day morbidity and mortality increases by 14%.Our patient population is living longer, presenting with more significant comorbidities, and undergoing more invasive and complex procedures. CRNAs lack education and experience to provide care for complex, pediatric, cardiac, obstetric, pain management and non-operating room procedures. You don’t know what you don’t know. “Without physician involvement in care, many medical problems might be misdiagnosed or just plain missed and the non -physician may very well be totally unaware of anything “wrong” occurring at all! This is a risk in every specialty, but particularly problematic in areas of practice that may present the need for rapid and decisive application of medical knowledge. Procedural areas that are less time- urgent, such as most of primary care settings can certainly safely use physician extenders with less frequent and direct oversight. But, there are few practices, even in primary care that would not harm patients in greater numbers with no physician involvement.“ Dr Barry Glazer ASA Past President Indianapolis, IN.When complications occur, an anesthesiologist’s education and training can mean the difference between life and death which is why an ASA survey found 9 of 10 surgeons prefer a physician anesthesia provider for their patients as opposed to a nurse. We request that our bylaws pertaining to the practice of CRNAs continue to require medical direction by a board certified anesthesiologist at all HonorHealth facilities. Petition to Revoke Abiy Ahmed's Nobel Peace Prize Over Horn of Africa Conflicts

Dear The Norwegian Nobel Committee,The Nobel Peace Prize medal traditionally symbolizes the recognition of individuals dedicated to fostering global peace. Unfortunately, the honor bestowed upon Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia has been marred, transforming the prestigious medal into a symbol associated with conflict rather than peace. We respectfully request the responsible committee to reevaluate and revoke the medal granted to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. We also urge the honorable committee to amend Section 10 of the Statutes of the Nobel Foundation, ensuring that future laureates are aware of the associated consequences.Ahmed's recent actions, particularly the initiation of force in the Somali Sea through a so-called MoU with Somaliland, have garnered widespread condemnation from notable entities, including the European Union, the African Union, the Arab League, the Islamic Organization, Norway, Turkey, the UK and the U.S. (please refer to the attached press releases for comprehensive details). He has egregiously infringed upon the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of the Federal Government of Somalia. It is imperative to note that Somaliland is an integral part of Somalia and cannot independently enter into agreements with other governments. It shares similarities with Tigray, a region previously intervened in by Abiy Ahmed, causing extensive destruction and the slaughter of 700,000 people, encompassing women, children, prisoners, and prominent figures such as Ethiopia's former foreign minister Seyoum Mesfin, following its declaration of independence.Abiy Ahmed's forceful assertion of control over Somalia's Red Sea coastline poses a substantial risk of exacerbating the already dire situation in the Horn of Africa. The region is grappling with challenges such as drought, poverty, and hunger, and such actions could potentially trigger a humanitarian crisis, leading to waves of refugees and prolonged displacement.Abiy's aggressive actions in the Horn of Africa also present an opportunity for the Al-Shabaab terrorist organization, further complicating the ongoing efforts of the Federal Government of Somalia to eradicate them. Petition to Revoke Abiy Ahmed's Nobel Peace Prize Over Horn of Africa Conflicts

Dear The Norwegian Nobel Committee,

The Nobel Peace Prize medal traditionally symbolizes the recognition of individuals dedicated to fostering global peace.

We also urge the honorable committee to amend Section 10 of the Statutes of the Nobel Foundation, ensuring that future laureates are aware of the associated consequences.

Ahmed's recent actions, particularly the initiation of force in the Somali Sea through a so-called MoU with Somaliland, have garnered widespread condemnation from notable entities, including the European Union, the African Union, the Arab League, the Islamic Organization, Norway, Turkey, the UK and the U.S.

It shares similarities with Tigray, a region previously intervened in by Abiy Ahmed, causing extensive destruction and the slaughter of 700,000 people, encompassing women, children, prisoners, and prominent figures such as Ethiopia's former foreign minister Seyoum Mesfin, following its declaration of independence.

Abiy Ahmed's forceful assertion of control over Somalia's Red Sea coastline poses a substantial risk of exacerbating the already dire situation in the Horn of Africa. The region is grappling with challenges such as drought, poverty, and hunger, and such actions could potentially trigger a humanitarian crisis, leading to waves of refugees and prolonged displacement.

Abiy's aggressive actions in the Horn of Africa also present an opportunity for the Al-Shabaab terrorist organization, further complicating the ongoing efforts of the Federal Government of Somalia to eradicate them. The war against Al-Shabaab has seen success since the reelection of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who declared total war against this group in August 2022.

The immediate revocation of the Nobel Peace Prize bestowed upon Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is paramount to preserving the integrity and purpose of this esteemed accolade. The Nobel Peace Prize shouldn't be the certificate to endorse or encourage conflicts.

Thank you,

Somali Diaspora Movement.

Lower the Speed Limit to 25 mph on N 4th St in Catawissa

We are calling for a reduction of the speed limit on N 4th St in Catawissa, PA, from Main St to the top of the hill. This area is heavily populated and frequented by pedestrians, including children and elderly residents. The current speed limit poses a significant risk to their safety. According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), pedestrian fatalities account for approximately 15% of all traffic fatalities, with higher speeds significantly increasing both the likelihood of crashes and severity of injuries. By lowering the speed limit to 25 mph, we can make our community safer for everyone who lives here or visits our town. Please join us in advocating for this change by signing this petition today.

Save His Life and Uphold Human Dignity in the Face of Severe Medical Neglect

To the Board of Paroles and Tennessee Governor Bill Lee:

We, the undersigned, urgently call upon the Board of Paroles to consider the commutation of David Avinger's sentence (TDOC #412013, currently housed at the Lois DeBerry Special Needs Facility). The ongoing negligence of his critical medical needs presents a grave threat to his life and dignity.

Overview of David’s Current Condition

David suffers from severe medical conditions that have critically deteriorated during his incarceration:

Paralysis: David is paralyzed from the waist down, requiring constant and specialized medical care.

Chronic Wounds: He suffers from a life-threatening decubitus ulcer, which began at the Lois M. DeBerry Special Needs Facility due to inadequate movement and care, and it has worsened over six years.

Medical Neglect: David has experienced severe medical neglect, including:

Alleged documented falsification of medical records by nurses claiming to change wound dressings when they did not, leading to severe infection and subsequent medical complications.

Forced to sit on a stitched-up wound during a long transfer, causing the wound to burst open and deteriorate into a deep, gaping ulcer that has been improperly left open and untreated for the past five years.

Consistent failure of prison staff to follow doctors’ orders for wound care, leading to recurring infections and inadequate management of his condition.

Frequent shortages of essential supplies like catheters and colostomy bags, forcing him to reuse supplies and resulting in repeated urinary tract infections.

Malnutrition and Inadequate Nutrition: David is significantly underweight and malnourished, having recently lost 6 pounds in just 3 days due to being fed only baby-sized food portions. Despite doctors’ orders for nutritional supplements like Boost or Ensure, these are not being provided, exacerbating his health decline.

Background on David’s Conviction

David was convicted under contentious circ*mstances, including disputes over evidence and trial limitations. The nature of his trial and potential miscarriages of justice that occurred must be considered.

Allegations of Retaliation

Marilyn Jones, David's mother, has raised serious concerns about retaliation against her son, including:

Denial of Basic Rights: David has been restricted from ordering food from the prison commissary and receiving adequate nutritional supplements.

Restriction of Communication: Following Marilyn's advocacy, which included reaching out to high-level officials, David's phone privileges were suspended under dubious pretenses, isolating him from external support.

Suspected Personal Vendettas: Marilyn suspects that a unit manager may be connected to the victim in David’s case, potentially influencing the poor treatment and decisions regarding his care.

Proposal for Care Upon Commutation

If commuted, David's mother, Marilyn Jones, is fully prepared to take over his care. She has arranged to provide the necessary medical attention and accommodation at her home, ensuring his medical and nutritional needs are met, thus greatly reducing the risk to his health and improving his quality of life.

Call to Action

We implore the Board to recognize:

The inhumane conditions under which David has been living.

The documented failures, medical malpractice, and retaliatory actions within the correctional system to provide necessary medical care.

The urgency of David’s health needs, which cannot be met under current conditions.

Granting commutation would be a just and humane decision, allowing David to receive the essential care he desperately needs and deserves.

Please grant David Avinger the chance to live out his remaining years with dignity and proper medical care by commuting his sentence. Let justice and humanity prevail.

Although the Draft Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP) provides some positive recommendations, it lacks strong regional coordination and continues to utilize a patchwork of small wastewater treatment plants, independent sewer districts, and septic systems. Wastewater leads to pollution and poses a threat to drinking water and our ecosystem. Please sign the petition and join us to request funds from the County and Town to engage a senior strategic advisor to assess Government Cooperation and Funding opportunities for wastewater planning. Specifically, we request that Teton County, Wyoming, hire a wastewater strategic consultant to improve cooperation between local levels of government, identify key infrastructure (sewer pipelines, wastewater treatment plants, etc.), and identify funding sources for this critical infrastructure.Protect Our Water Jackson Hole (POWJH) is willing to fund $100,000 – nearly half the cost of hiring a strategic advisor. We need Teton County and the Town of Jackson to contribute the other half of the funds. A strategic advisor can evaluate economies of scale and capital resource pooling and help our community access the once-in-a-generation funding opportunities for water quality infrastructure. On February 12, 2024, Meghan Quinn, POWJH Executive Director, requested that Teton County and the Town of Jackson fund this proposal so we can ensure the future of clean water in Jackson Hole:Note: Please just sign and share the petition; there is no need to "chip in" to get the petition on the agenda and promote it, unless you choose to. To some visitors and residents, water resources such as the Snake River, streams, and lakes look pristine. However, for more than 45 years, nutrient pollution from ineffective septic systems has been degrading water quality and threatening human health and the environment. Teton County, WY, faces water quality challenges, including nitrate contamination in drinking water (an indicator of wastewater pollution that makes water unsafe to drink), E. coli contamination that limits human recreation, and nutrient pollution that degrades natural ecosystems. These impacts can no longer be ignored. The time for action is now.POWJH has been a catalyst and funding partner for the Teton County Water Quality Management Plan – the first comprehensive study to assess the threats to water quality in Jackson Hole and propose solutions. Data shows that septic systems have contaminated drinking water in areas around the County. Septic systems don’t work well in Teton County because of the cold climate and high groundwater levels. The “straws” for local wells are in the same aquifer (an underground river of our drinking water) that the County’s wastewater is contaminating. This contamination adds nutrients to waterbodies and disrupts the natural ecosystem balance.Join us in asking the Teton County, WY Board of County Commissioners and Jackson, WY Town Council to address the gaps in the plan by hiring a strategic advisor to better protect public health and water quality across the County. Please support us in protecting public health and water quality across Teton County, WY. Demand the Removal of RF Cell Towers Installed Near Residential Areas by Crown Castle

The residents of Olympia Heights, Miami-Dade, FL are deeply concerned about the recent installation of Radio Frequency (RF) cell towers in close proximity to our homes by Crown Castle. These towers emit electromagnetic fields (EMFs), which several studies suggest may have harmful effects on human health. A study published in the International Journal of Oncology found a correlation between long-term exposure to low-intensity EMFs and certain types of cancer (International Journal of Oncology, 2010). Additionally, the World Health Organization classified RF radiation as "possibly carcinogenic to humans" in 2011.We understand that these cell towers are crucial for improving telecommunications infrastructure. However, we believe that public health should not be compromised for technological advancement. We urge local authorities and Crown Castle to consider relocating these towers away from residential areas or adopting safer technologies. This is not just a fight for Olympia Heights; it's a fight for every community facing similar issues across America. Let's stand together and demand action now! Please sign this petition urging Crown Castle and our local government to prioritize our health over convenience.

STOP THE SLABS AND TUNNEL PROJECT OVER WALDEN SQUARE ROAD

Successful, human-scaled, people-friendly housing projects are going up throughout Cambridge. Examples include Blanchard Road, Jefferson Park, Rindge Ave, and many, many more - all thoughtfully planned, designed and built on land that fits the developer's design. Winn's planned slab-and-tunnel project, however, is not only unreasonable, ill-conceived, awkward, ugly, and a recipe for a host of problems down the road. It's also too expensive. We advocate for more affordable housing. Who wouldn't? But ripping up a road, adding heat islands, destroying a mature canopy, and - worst of all - putting a road under a 9 story building resulting in a 250-foot tunnel is sheer folly - especially in an area frequented by hundreds of children and their parents. The problem: Privately owned Winn Development Corporation wants to build more industrial, oversizedslab-style housing. They plan to cover Walden Square Road with one very large building approximately 9 stories tall and 250 feet long that will destroy a family of seven beautiful, shade providing, cooling, mature trees running from the Yerxa underpass to the basketball court. The ground floor will be a covered parking lot / tunnel that will force foot traffic onto narrow walkways outside the slab. (See image: "proposed building A). Moreover, another new building next to the already immense #21 Walden Sq. Road will eliminate even more green space. (See image proposed building B.)The solution: Build elsewhere. Petitioners want WinnDevelopment to stop developing this poorly designed and unreasonably expensive project (funded in large part by the city) and focus instead on improving the structures currently in place at Walden Square. Moreover, we want all mature trees on Walden Square Road to be left untouched and the land they are on to be converted into a jointly owned municipal and private park. Why is this important?Ask anyone living at the Walden Square apartments how they feel about the construction of 2 large buildings and the addition of nearly 100 apartments smack in the middle of their only main thoroughfare and they will tell you it's a bad idea. Unfortunately, a very high percentage of Walden Square residents do not speak English and are largely unaware of Winn Development's plans. In public letter written by the mayor to the Cambridge Affordable Housing Trust conditions were identified stating that tenants at Walden Square have been subject to years of neglect and intimidation by Winn. Consequently, they have surrendered to Winn's plan not because they approve it but because they fear what the repercussions would be.It's important that we, as Cantabrigians living near and far from Walden Square support our multi-cultural, low income population. We advocate for: a) Winn's commitment to renovate all existing buildings, b) preserving Walden Square Road as an open air and accessible thoroughfare and c) leaving the mature greenery and tree canopy intact.Make no mistake: Winn's plan is for profits first, people second. Now is the time to tell this developer to build - yes - but build elsewhere.Thank you!

Save Our Skies Camarillo - Protect Our Community From Jet Noise and Pollution

The Camarillo Airport is transitioning to greater numbers of jet aircraft. Jet and turboprops will grow from 12,000 flights/year currently to approximately 49,000 flights/year as projected in the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) forecasts, a 400% increase from current levels.Noise, emissions, quality of life and home values will impact our community with this increase in jet traffic. Our elected representatives on the Camarillo City Council and the Board of Supervisors have a duty to prioritize and advocate for the health and safety of residents. We are calling on the City of Camarillo, the County of Ventura and the Dept. of Airports to complete the 150 Noise Study, an "Alternative Flightpath Analysis", and an emissions environmental report. It is reasonable and responsible that these studies be completed prior to submitting an Airport Layout Plan to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in order to identify alternatives and address the impacts of increased jet traffic on the Camarillo community.

Art on Trial: Protect Black Art

Born from street culture nearly 50 years ago, hip-hop has grown to become the most popular genre of music around the world. Fans of our culture know that creative expression in music is rooted in what artists see and hear, and hip-hop often magnifies the good and the bad happening in impoverished communities around the world. Rap artists are storytellers. As with all entertainment, hip-hop artists create entire worlds populated with complex characters who often play both hero and villain.Today in courtrooms across America, Black creativity and artistry is being criminalized. With increasing and troubling frequency, prosecutors are attempting to use rap lyrics as confessions. This practice isn’t just a violation of First Amendment protections for speech and creative expression. It punishes already marginalized communities and silences their stories of family, struggle, survival, and triumph.Currently in Georgia, multiple artists belonging to Young Stoner Life Records – including Grammy-winning artists like Young Thug – are facing more than 50 allegations, including RICO charges which claim the record label is a criminal gang. The allegations heavily rely on the artists’ lyrics that prosecutors claim are “overt evidence of conspiracy.” In the indictment, Fulton County prosecutors argue that lyrics like “I get all type of cash, I’m a general” are a confession of criminal intent. This un-American practice must end. We urge the prompt adoption of legislation at the Federal and State level that would limit how prosecutors can use creative and artistic expression as evidence against defendants in criminal trials. We applaud Governor Newsom for recently signing a bill into law in California, and we urge action on bills currently under consideration in New York and New Jersey, as well as the RAP (Restoring Artistic Protection) Act legislation introduced by Rep. Hank Johnson and Rep. Jamaal Bowman in the U.S. Congress. We hope that similar bills will become law across America to end this attack on our First Amendment freedoms that disproportionately harms Black and other minority artists. We must protect Black art, creativity, and communities.#ProtectBlackArt

#BRING CHAVA HOME! Stop Unjust Deportations of Law-Abiding Individuals

We, the Casillas family, urge you to take immediate action to reunite a loving family torn apart by an unjust deportation. This morning, Salvador Casillas-Garcia (known affectionately as Chava) a devoted husband and father, was unfairly deported despite his continuous efforts to follow all legal procedures to obtain citizenship in the United States.Salvador Casillas-Garcia is not just another statistic; he is a pillar of his community, a cherished member of his family, and a law-abiding individual who has contributed positively to society. His daughter Ana Sofia, who is special needs, and son Isaac, rely on his care and support, and his wife Nani desperately needs him by her side during these challenging times. It is utterly heartbreaking to witness a family being torn apart due to a flawed immigration system that fails to recognize the humanity and contributions of individuals like Salvador Casillas-Garcia. He was diligently pursuing citizenship through legal channels, and there have been no instances of illegal actions in his case.Deporting Salvador Casillas-Garcia not only inflicts immeasurable emotional pain on his family but also undermines the values of compassion, fairness, and justice that our nation prides itself on. We refuse to stand idly by while innocent families are needlessly separated. We call upon immigration authorities to review Salvador Casillas-Garcia's case with compassion and empathy and to grant him the opportunity to return to his family in the United States. Every moment spent apart from his loved ones is a moment of injustice and unnecessary suffering. Please sign this petition to demand that Salvador Casillas-Garcia be allowed to come back home and be reunited with his family where he rightfully belongs. Time is of the essence in this matter. Every signature counts in amplifying our voices and increasing the pressure on authorities to act swiftly and compassionately. Together, let us send a powerful message that we will not tolerate the unjust deportation of law-abiding individuals who pose no threat to society.Thank you for standing with us in this fight for justice and family unity. The Casillas family

SAVE KERRY HALL

JOIN US MONDAY APRIL 29 FROM 12-3PM AT KERRY HALL FOR A SIT IN PROTEST.Cornish College of the Arts was founded in 1914 as the Cornish School of Music, by Nellie Cornish. In 1915, the school was known as The Cornish School of Music Language and Dancing. Kerry Hall was Nellie's apartment and the only original tie left to Cornish's beginning. Since 1921 this building has been used for dance and music classes at Cornish College of the Arts. Since then, many dance and music history makers have taught, taken class, and been apart of Cornish in Kerry Hall, including Martha Graham, Merce Cunnigham, John Cage, as well as many others. On April 9, 2024 Cornish released a formal statement that Kerry Hall has been put up for sale under the guise of bringing the dance and music students to main campus. This directly displaces the dance and music students, many of them attending Cornish for the ability to study in Kerry Hall, as well as artists who rent the space for rehearsals or shows at PONCHO Music Hall. Not to mention this decision coming from the board with no support from students, alumni, faculty, and the Seattle arts community. We ask for the administration at Cornish College of the Arts to reconsider this decision that has broken the hearts of many in the Cornish community and beyond. Kerry Hall is a piece of dance and music history, Cornish history. We ask for them to work with the Cornish community to come to a different solution that could result in Kerry Hall remaining a part of Cornish indefinitely. Please sign and share to show the board that we do not stand with them on this decision.

We ask for them to work with the Cornish community to come to a different solution that could result in Kerry Hall remaining a part of Cornish indefinitely. Please sign and share to show the board that we do not stand with them on this decision.

Petition Against Huffines’ 666 Housing, Sewer Plant, and MUD

This is a petition by Communities and Creeks United, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization. Please go to CCU's website to donate to support our efforts athttps://communitiescreeksunited.org/ and DO NOT DONATE HERE at change.org. The money raised here will be kept by change.org.We, the residents of Parker and Murphy, Texas, fully oppose the sewer plant, high-density housing, and independent “Municipal Utility District” (MUD) which Dallas developers Don and Phillip Huffines are clandestinely trying to build in Collin County by using a deceptively named company, "Restore the Grasslands, LLC" (RTG), to file for their permits.Huffines-owned RTG filed for permits to build a sewer plant to process and discharge into Maxwell Creek effluent for up to 666 small houses and apartments, crammed onto 55 of 101 acres of unincorporated land between Parker and Murphy. 12 houses per acre far exceed either city’s zoning. Huffines/RTG also seeks a permit to create their very own so-called “municipal” utility district (MUD). It’s a quasi-governmental entity to operate the sewer plant and levy taxes to reimburse the Huffines millions of dollars for the unnecessary sewer plant and development. The Huffines’ project threatens our local environment and quality of life, while they will walk away with tens of millions in taxpayer-funded profits.Far from actually restoring any grasslands, experts have testified the sewer effluent could cause significant ecological damage to Maxwell Creek, to wildlife, and to local water sources; as well as produce nuisance odors in neighborhoods near and far—negatively impacting Parker and Murphy property values and causing stormwater runoff, which threatens flooding along Maxwell and Dublin Creeks, all the way to Cottonwood Creek.Huffines’ high-density development will add 1/3rd the population of Parker and 10% of Murphy to the area. It will have no police, fire dept., EMT, public works or schools; instead dumping demand for those services onto surrounding cities—yet paying no taxes to either city. That population growth will overload our existing schools, roads, utilities, emergency services, and storm drainage infrastructure which are not designed for Dallas-like high-density. Fixing them will overwhelm us with increased taxes. The additional demand for potable water will result in increased city water rates from No. TX Municipal Water District which supplies all North Texas cities. Schools will also suffer from overcrowding and deteriorating academics. These are just a few of the serious adverse impacts to current residents and threats to our quality of life. Huffines/RTG’s callous disregard for all of us is unnecessary because Parker and Murphy are NOT opposed to a normal density development that would need no sewer plant or MUD. Huffines is unwilling to build a compatible development. We also oppose Huffines’ deceptive PR campaign which claims Restore The Grasslands is trying to “protect Maxwell Creek” from Parker forcing an unnamed developer to build a sewer plant—when in fact RTG is the developer seeking the sewer plant and MUD permit. This petition voices our concerns and asks local and state authorities to STOP Huffines' sewer plant, high-density housing, and MUD. We urge alternative solutions that prioritize the environment and respect for existing communities, over profit and greed-driven plans of Dallas developers. Please sign this petition if you share these concerns.

Help Make My Front Yard A Country

Currently, I live in the U.S. However, I want to create a brand new country. Inspired by the country in Nevada, I want to start small but grow. I will work hard to provide the country with great things. Our country will be called the United Nation of Ice Spice Yelsa (UNISY) and our capital is Ice Spice City. There is a very unique terrain with farmland, rocks and grass. Houses can be built on property with a permit once we get approved. This is where Ice Spice Yelsa III The Musical will be rehearsed and there are many people who I guarantee will become famous upon production. I want a peaceful and beautiful country with yummy lead water that we might need to fix and some really nice plants that are going to sit in multiple spaces of the garden area. We have garden boxes for food but we may need "imports" from The U.S. We are willing to support the U.S. if they support us and will try to avoid conflict from other countries. However, in order for UNISY to be recognized, we need to get attention. Help us by signing. Only you can help us achieve our goal. Something to encourage you is to mention that our national animal is a harp seal (Pagophilus Groenlandicus). If you don't know what that is, look it up. You will want to sign after that. If you do decide to join our country, we have a harp seal plush that will become our mascot and basically live inside of the capitol building. This lovely plush will be known as Baby Harp because they are not quite an adult and will never be an adult. We also have a very fat adult harp seal who is known as Chonky. This is Baby Harp's cousin from Greenland. Yeah, if you don't like stuffed animal stories then you are missing out. Award Michelin Stars to All Hillstone Restaurants

Every visit to a Hillstone restaurant is like stepping into paradise. The consistency of the ambiance, decor, service and food is unrivaled. It's a place that strikes the perfect balance - intentional but not too formal, sophisticated but not over the top. It never fails to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Hillstone is like Drizzy Drake, they just simply never miss. The spinach artichoke dip has been a comfort in times of heartbreak; the chicken sandwich has fostered friendships; and the Ribs have created an unbreakable bond between me and my father. These experiences are testament to Hillstone's excellence. However, despite its consistent high-quality service and culinary delights, none of Hillstone’s restaurants have received a Michelin star yet. This recognition is long overdue for such an outstanding establishment that consistently delivers on all fronts.Michelin stars are awarded based on criteria such as quality of ingredients used, mastery in flavor and cooking techniques, personality of the chef in his cuisine, value for money and consistency between visits (Michelin Guide). By these standards alone it's clear that every Hillstone restaurant deserves this prestigious accolade.Let us give credit where credit is due by ensuring all Hillstone restaurants receive their well-deserved Michelin star rating. Urge Lego to Create an AN-225 Airplane Set

I, like many others, have always been fascinated by the AN-225 airplane. Its sheer size and power are awe-inspiring. It was a symbol of human achievement in aviation and its recent demolition has left many of us feeling a sense of loss. Creating a Lego set in honor of this iconic plane would not only be a fitting tribute but also an opportunity for future generations to learn about this marvel of engineering. The AN-225 was the heaviest aircraft ever built with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes (1,410,958 pounds). It was originally developed to transport the Buran spaceplane for the Soviet Union in the 1980s (source: Guinness World Records). Despite its size and complexity, it completed over 1,300 flights successfully during its lifetime (source: Antonov Airlines).Lego has previously created sets honoring significant achievements in human history such as the Apollo Saturn V set and International Space Station set. A Lego version of the AN-225 would be another great addition to this collection.By signing this petition you are showing your support for honoring historical achievements in aviation through educational toys like Lego sets. Sale Of Holly Tree Racquet Club

Dear Wilmington City Council Men and WomenNew Hanover County CommissionersDepartment of Parks and Recreation:We are writing to express our sincere and fervent support of the purchase of Holly Tree Racquet Club by the city of Wilmington and New Hanover County, in hopes that we, as well as the community, will continue to benefit from the courts and family spaces as a public space.Holly Tree Racquet and Swim Club (Est. 1994) has for 3 decades been a place where women, men, teens, and children have come every day of the week to learn, practice, compete in and enjoy with friends and family the sport of tennis. But, as you probably know, the owners of Holly Tree — Irv Sistrunk and Rusty Lee — are looking to enjoy another chapter of their lives with their families and, therefore, plan to sell the club for the fair market value. We are very happy for them. They work hard every day and deserve to be able to turn their attention to family and other pursuits. And we the members are hopeful, because we’ve been apprised for the possibility that New Hanover County is considering purchasing our club. We feel encouraged that we will be able to continue to join friends for tennis matches, practice, lessons, tournaments and fundraisers, happy to be able to continue to enjoy the pool, bring our children and grandchildren to swim, play tennis and take tennis lessons, and happy that others in the community can enjoy it, too!Holly Tree has about 240 memberships, 40% of which are families or couples, the rest one person memberships. Of course, you can only consider this purchase if it serves a much broader number of residents of New Hanover Co., which it will in becoming a public sports facility, much like what happened with Echo Farms. Also like Echo, Holly Tree has soft courts which are kinder to aging joints, so more tennis players throughout the city would have that option.Studies have shown tennis can extend life by as much as 10 years —- more than any other sport. Many enjoy it into their 80’s and beyond. It would take en estimated $5 million to rebuild a facility like Holly Tree on underdeveloped land. It is our hope that the City of Wilmington and New Hanover Co. will see the vale in preserving and continuing what is already here and at the same time expand its benefit to even more citizens.Thank you very much for your consideration.Signed,Members of Holly Tree Racquet and Swim Club.

Petition For Temple University to Divest From Apartheid

In furthering the student movement for Palestinian liberation, Temple Students for Justice in Palestine along with a coalition of other students, faculty, and alumni have put together these three main demands. We will not stop fighting until our voices are heard and until Palestine is Free from the River to the Sea!1. Financial DivestmentWe demand divestment and withdrawal of all further investments of Temple’s finances, including endowment, from companies and institutions that are complicit in or profit from Israel’s ongoing occupation, apartheid, genocidal attacks, mass incarceration, and continual violation of the human rights of Palestinians. This demand includes but is not limited to: all war and weapons manufacturing corporations that aid in Israeli war crimes, all companies that are complicit in occupation as specified by the BDS movement, and all war-profiting corporations or partnerships that recruit people on campus. This demand necessitates full transparency of all university investments. The student body has the right to know where tuition money is invested. We call on Temple to disclose all investments, including endowment. We demand that these funds be reinvested into the well-being of ourschool, students, and community.2. Academic BoycottWe demand an academic boycott by Temple administration of the state of Israel. This includes severing ties with all Israeli institutions built on stolen land and complicit in apartheid. This includes “Tel Aviv” University, Ben-Gurion University of the “Negev,” Bar-Ilan University, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and all other exchange and study-abroad programs, fellowships, and research collaboration with Israeli academic institutions. The Israeli Occupation Forces, which have engaged in a systemic attack on Gaza's education system, have claimed the lives of 5,479 students, 261 teachers, and 95 university professors. Temple University, which ostensibly prides itself on its "accessible education," has a moral obligation to cut its connections with a regime that has intentionally worked to make education virtually inaccessible to the Palestinian people.3. AcknowledgmentWe demand that Temple administration recognize the atrocities committed by the Israeli government in Gaza, acknowledge the genocide, and call for a permanent ceasefire. The usage of the term genocide to describe the atrocities carried out against the Palestinian people in Gaza is justified. It is impossible to articulate the horror of more than 35,000 Palestinians being brutally murdered within six months, and the deliberate starvation of two million people. Our school administration has a moral obligation to candidly name this moment for what it is: a genocide, funded and enabled by our tax and tuition dollars.

Protect Jewish Students: Demand UNC Stop Antisemitism Now

Dear Chancellor Guskiewicz,We write to express our profound concerns about the escalating antisemitic situation on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) campus. The increasing incidents reflecting these views are not only deeply troubling but are creating a hostile environment for Jewish and Israeli students. This warrants your immediate attention and decisive action. Specifically,UNC must act to fulfill its obligations under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect students, faculty, and staff from discrimination based on ethnicity or nationality. This means ensuring Jewish and Israeli students are safeguarded from discrimination and hostile environments on campus. On October 7th, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, resulting in the tragic death of over 1,400 Israelis and numerous atrocities including rape, beheadings, and mutilations, with more than 240 individuals taken hostage in Gaza. These are not the actions of political disagreement but the actions of hate and terrorism. Yet numerous individuals and entities are either praising or justifying this horrific attack. At the forefront of this is the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), which openly supports the violent acts of Hamas, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization by the Secretary of State. The SJP is also engaged in the dissemination of educational materials and propaganda on campus that echo and promote Hamas ideologies, further entrenching their endorsem*nt of the group’s objectives.SJP has declared in their national toolkit that “Palestinian students in exile are PART of this movement, not in solidarity with this movement.” An Instagram post from UNC SJP states, “It is our moral obligation to be in solidarity with the dispossessed, no matter the pathway to liberation they choose to take. This includes violence.” This is more than vocal support. This suggests a direct and active participation in Hamas's objectives. The Senate recently passed a unanimous resolution condemning antisemitism on college campuses, citing UNC SJP among groups that have praised and justified the actions of Hamas. An official image from UNC SJP’s Instagram channel calling for a “Day Of Resistance” rally displays a paraglider, a reference to Hamas terrorists' use of paragliders in their October 7th attacks and a symbol of triumph for the terrorist organization and its supporters. The image is captioned 'From The River To The Sea,' a demand for the erasure of Israel and its citizens. The local chapter adhered to National SJP's disturbing pro-Hamas material, clearly aligning themselves with their national movement and Hamas. On October 12th, SJP members at UNC shouted "We are Hamas!" directed at Jewish students and faculty, intensifying the increasingly unsafe campus environment for Jewish students. Such actions by SJP are effectively inciting hostility and fear.UNC faculty, staff, and graduate students have signed pro-Hamas petitions, claiming the necessity to contextualize the 'loss of life' within 'ongoing colonial oppression' and a 'population resisting oppression.' UNC academic departments are co-sponsoring SJP events, suggesting implicit endorsem*nt of SJP by the university. Hebrew classes have transitioned to Zoom. Jewish students are concealing their identities. What's next? Hiding in an attic?Adding fuel to this disturbing environment is Prof. Chebrolu of the Rhetoric and Public Issues class, who stated during a lecture on October 17th, "The attack by Hamas was not senseless. There is context... America is part of a broader global criminal project... and also just like the Holocaust was horrifying, and this was part of a kind of reaction to that, an overcorrection." Two students have filed complaints against this class, among many other complaints filed against other faculty members. Put yourself in a Jewish student's shoes. How would you feel?Numerous students, parents, and faculty have approached UNC expressing their concerns about the hostile campus environment for Jews.Yet, by taking effectively no action while citing "free speech" and "institutional neutrality," UNC is sending a clear message that eliminationist rhetoric and antisemitic statements are, regrettably, tolerated on campus. SJP has put UNC on notice regarding their affiliation and endorsem*nt of violence. On October 14, 2019, UNC signed an agreement with the Department of Education, committing to combat antisemitism on campus. This agreement was a response to concerns over antisemitic harassment related to a previous conflict in Gaza. Despite this formal pledge, antisemitic rhetoric and intimidation persist unabated at UNC. The administration’s lack of decisive action in light of their previous commitments is more than just a failure to protect its students. It is a breach of an agreement with a federal body, potentially subjecting the university to Title VI sanctions. We call on UNC to take decisive action against the use of antisemitic communications. We call on UNC to condemn organizations, faculty, and staff that use slogans, symbols, graphics, or other forms of expression, that aim for the annihilation of Jews in Israel or the justification and rationalization of abhorrent terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, including those of October 7th. We call on UNC to prohibit such outrageous and discriminatory incitement against Jews and Israelis on campus. This includes the use of reprehensible symbols (e.g. the paraglider), that contribute to a climate of fear and marginalization for Jewish students, a clear infraction of Title VI.In a pertinent and commendable move, Duke University has set a vital precedent by taking a stand against the slogan "From the River to the Sea," recognizing its implications as a call for the destruction of the Jewish state and an implicit endorsem*nt of violence against Jews. We call on UNC to emulate this example of proactive stewardship to uphold a campus ethos that unequivocally rejects any rhetoric that fuels antisemitism and poses a real and legitimate threat to the Jewish and Israeli members of UNC’s student body.We implore you to take immediate steps to ensure the safety of all students at UNC.Sincerely,UNC Students, Parents, Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Friends, and Donors

At the forefront of this is the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), which openly supports the violent acts of Hamas, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization by the Secretary of State. The SJP is also engaged in the dissemination of educational materials and propaganda on campus that echo and promote Hamas ideologies, further entrenching their endorsem*nt of the group’s objectives.

SJP has declared in their national toolkit that “Palestinian students in exile are PART of this movement, not in solidarity with this movement.” An Instagram post from UNC SJP states, “It is our moral obligation to be in solidarity with the dispossessed, no matter the pathway to liberation they choose to take.

Such actions by SJP are effectively inciting hostility and fear.

UNC faculty, staff, and graduate students have signed pro-Hamas petitions, claiming the necessity to contextualize the 'loss of life' within 'ongoing colonial oppression' and a 'population resisting oppression.' UNC academic departments are co-sponsoring SJP events, suggesting implicit endorsem*nt of SJP by the university. Hebrew classes have transitioned to Zoom. Jewish students are concealing their identities. What's next? Hiding in an attic?

Adding fuel to this disturbing environment is Prof. How would you feel?

Numerous students, parents, and faculty have approached UNC expressing their concerns about the hostile campus environment for Jews.Yet, by taking effectively no action while citing "free speech" and "institutional neutrality," UNC is sending a clear message that eliminationist rhetoric and antisemitic statements are, regrettably, tolerated on campus.

This includes the use of reprehensible symbols (e.g. the paraglider), that contribute to a climate of fear and marginalization for Jewish students, a clear infraction of Title VI.

In a pertinent and commendable move, Duke University has set a vital precedent by taking a stand against the slogan "From the River to the Sea," recognizing its implications as a call for the destruction of the Jewish state and an implicit endorsem*nt of violence against Jews. We call on UNC to emulate this example of proactive stewardship to uphold a campus ethos that unequivocally rejects any rhetoric that fuels antisemitism and poses a real and legitimate threat to the Jewish and Israeli members of UNC’s student body.

We implore you to take immediate steps to ensure the safety of all students at UNC.

Sincerely,

UNC Students, Parents, Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Friends, and Donors

Wichita Aviation Tower

I came up with an idea just recently called The Wichita Aviation Tower. It is a project I would love to see built but of course the only way to get this off the ground is to find help. I have changed the name several times looking for a better one. The Wichita Aviation Tower if built would be in Wichita possibly SE of the skyline so it can be seen off Interstate 35 and would be in the shape of an airplane at the top. It would be to honor our veterans who have served in war. It would also be a symbol to represent Wichita The Air Capital Of The World.. The height would be ~500 to 580 feet to the observation deck and ~550 to 630 feet to the peak. I believe in my heart this would help Wichita economically. I would like to have a gift shop designed like an airport at the . I haven't found a decision maker. I am going to wait on that and see how many signatures we get and I will present it to the city of Wichita if i get enough signatures.Update...I didn't get enough signatures to present it to the city. I know this has nothing to do with this project but some guy in OKC wants to build a building that is 134 stories and 1,750 feet. I am sure it will likely be scaled down to like 80 to 90 stories and 1,000 to 1,200 feet if it is built. My project will be an absolute maximum of 550 to 600 feet to the peak and 500 to 550 feet to the observation area.Update...I went before the Wichita City Council on March 19th and it went well.Facts...Kansas is surrounded by 4 states that have buildings at least 600 feet or greater. Des Moines, Iowa which is half the size of Wichita in population and in size has a building that is 630 feet tall and they have had it since 1991. Wichita's and Kansas tallest building The Epic Center is 385 feet tall to the tip of the iconic sloped roof and around 400 feet to the highest antenna. No observation area exists in the Epic Center is another reason I am proposing this project. I have been told that Wichita can't have taller buildings because there isn't enough people to fill them up. Wichita, KS has one of the smallest skylines in the Midwest with the exception of cities in North Dakota and South Dakota. We have one million more people than Nebraska and Omaha has a building that is 634 feet tall and another will be taller at 677 feet when added in a couple years. So this is another reason why I am going with an icon. Something similar to the Seattle Space Needle or the St Louis Arch but would be in the shape of a plane at the top instead. The absolute maximum height would be 500 feet to the observation area and 550 to 580 feet to its peak. I have to be honest the funds will probably need to be raised because I highly doubt if the billionaires in Wichita would fund this project.

STOP Noise & Lead Pollution coming from Centennial Airport Flight Schools

Prevent the PIAA from Upgrading Aliquippa Quips Football Team to Class 5A

As a deeply concerned resident of Aliquippa, PA, I am writing this petition with an urgent plea to stop the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) from moving our beloved Aliquippa Quips football team to class 5A. Currently, our team competes in class 4A which is already unsuitable for the safety of the players. The proposed move by the PIAA not only threatens the competitive balance but also puts at risk the safety of our young athletes. The children on this team are not just players; they are part of our community and their well-being is paramount. Moving them up another class will pit them against larger schools with potentially bigger and more experienced players, increasing chances for injuries.According to a study published in The American Journal of Sports Medicine, high school football players are twice as likely to sustain an injury as those playing in lower divisions (source: The American Journal of Sports Medicine). We cannot ignore these statistics when it comes to safeguarding our children's health. We implore the PIAA to reconsider this decision and keep Aliquippa Quips in class 4A. This petition isn't just about preserving tradition or maintaining competitive balance; it's about ensuring that we prioritize player safety above all else. Please sign this petition if you believe that every child deserves a safe environment in which they can enjoy sports without unnecessary risks.

Demand the Dismissal of Antioch Unified Superintendent Stephanie Anello

For four long years, I have tirelessly sought accountability for abusive staff and employees within the Antioch Unified School District. However, my pleas have fallen on deaf ears due to the nepotistic relationship between Superintendent Stephanie Anello, board members Mary Rocha, Gary Hack, and most recently Clyde Lewis, our local police department, and the Antioch Back the Blue. This has allowed supremacy in Antioch to go unchecked for years.Superintendent Anello's poor decision-making, lack of leadership, and misuse of funds have only exacerbated this issue. She has allowed bullying of multiple victims on staff to go on. Her actions and inactions are not only a gross violation of her duties but also a betrayal to every student who depends on her leadership for their education. It is time that we take a stand against such blatant misuse of power. We demand an immediate investigation into these allegations and call for the dismissal of Superintendent Stephanie Anello if found guilty. Our children deserve better; our community deserves better. We urge all residents in Antioch, CA, USA to sign this petition - let us ensure that those entrusted with our children's education are held accountable for their actions.

Citizens Against Bigger Planes: Our Airport. Our Vote.

Does the Aspen Airport need more, and bigger, private planes like G650s and 737s? The answer is "No."Right now, the Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners is considering the Airport Layout Plan to expand the runway and taxiway separation at the Aspen Airport to allow bigger planes, like 737s. Citizens Against Bigger Planes believe allowing bigger planes will make Airport’s long-festering challenges in safety, noise, air pollution, and climate-harming emissions worse--not better.Because of the cost of a half-billion dollars and the long-ranging consequences of this decision, the airport expansion plans to allow for bigger planes the people of Pitkin County DESERVE A VOTE.There is no better symbol of unbridled growth and cruise-ship tourism than allowing for bigger, louder, and dirtier planesThe expansion and redevelopment of the Aspen Airport will be the most expensive and biggest decision for the future of the Roaring Fork Valley. Please VETO HB 5105 - Weakening Childhood Immunizations

Dear Governor Justice,As fellow West Virginians, we're reaching out to you with heartfelt urgency, asking for your support in vetoing HB 5105. This bill threatens to weaken our essential immunization requirements, a move that could put our children at risk of preventable diseases like measles, polio, and pertussis. We're proud of our state's strong record when it comes to childhood immunizations, especially in the face of recent challenges. While other places struggle with measles outbreaks, we've been fortunate to avoid any cases since 2009.But maintaining our immunization rates isn't just about protecting our kids—it's about safeguarding our entire community. You see, there are specific thresholds we need to meet to keep everyone safe. For instance, a 95% immunization rate against measles helps prevent its spread to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. And for polio, we need at least an 80% immunization rate to keep things running smoothly. When we fall short of these targets, we risk outbreaks that affect us all, like the one in Washington state that kept over 800 children out of school and daycare. This isn't just about parents worrying over their kids. It affects our elderly, our teachers, our healthcare workers, and our hospitals. Preventable diseases put a strain on our community's well-being and could overwhelm our healthcare system. And let's not forget about the broader impact on our state—on our jobs, our economy, and even our tourism. If we're seen as vulnerable to diseases that can be prevented, we might scare off visitors and investors. By vetoing HB 5105, we're not just standing up for public health; we're showing our commitment to keeping our communities strong and resilient.Sincerely,Your constituents

Please VETO HB 5105 - Weakening Childhood Immunizations

Dear Governor Justice,

As fellow West Virginians, we're reaching out to you with heartfelt urgency, asking for your support in vetoing HB 5105. This bill threatens to weaken our essential immunization requirements, a move that could put our children at risk of preventable diseases like measles, polio, and pertussis.

We're proud of our state's strong record when it comes to childhood immunizations, especially in the face of recent challenges. While other places struggle with measles outbreaks, we've been fortunate to avoid any cases since 2009.

But maintaining our immunization rates isn't just about protecting our kids—it's about safeguarding our entire community.

By vetoing HB 5105, we're not just standing up for public health; we're showing our commitment to keeping our communities strong and resilient.

Sincerely,

Your constituents

Restore the Name of Monk Botanical Gardens in Wausau, WI

The Monk Botanical Gardens have been a cherished part of Wausau, Wisconsin for over 30 years. This beautiful oasis was generously donated by Robert Monk and his family to our city. Their name has always been synonymous with the gardens, until recently when it was renamed as the Wausau Botanical Gardens. Robert Monk's philanthropic spirit brought this garden into existence. It is not just a place of beauty but also a symbol of community and generosity that Mr. Monk embodied. His contribution to our city goes beyond just this garden; it is an integral part of our local history and identity. However, in recent times, his name has been removed from these gardens - an act that feels disrespectful to his memory and legacy. We believe that restoring the original name would be a fitting tribute to Robert Monk's contribution to our community. We are calling on the city officials and relevant authorities in Wausau to restore respect for Mr.Monk's legacy by reinstating the original name - "Monk Botanical Gardens". By doing so we will ensure that future generations remember Mr.Monk's generosity every time they visit these beautiful gardens. Please sign this petition if you believe in preserving local history and honoring those who have made significant contributions to our community.

STATE RECOGNITION FOR LENAPE NATION OF PENNSYLVANIA

We urge our Pennsylvania State Legislators formally to recognize the enrolled membership of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania, a long-established tribal entity whose members are all direct descendants of Lenape ancestors who remained in Pennsylvania, and who were forced to hide their culture and assimilate. It is inconceivable that our Commonwealth has yet to bestow theproper recognition and rights that the Lenape Nation of PA members are far overdue as the first people of this land. They alone possess unique history of the Lenape who remained behind, honoring their ancestors and their descendants, and retaining the vast amount of culture andtradition that has been passed down from Lenape elders here in our Commonwealth, as well as established and verified by the extensive direct descendant LNPA tribal member roster. It is well past due for Pennsylvania to join our neighbor states of New Jersey and Delaware in recognizing their own Lenape descendants. For many years the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania has worked diligently as stewards and caretakers of the Delaware River, the land, and the people. Their high appreciation and protection of the natural environment and the watershed is a valuable asset to the Commonwealth. For over 20 years they have been engaged in partnerships with over 130 organizations who work together to reach these goals. Partners include environmental organizations, faith-based organizations, youth groups, elders’ societies, historical societies, businesses, government officials, and others. The Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania generously shares Lenape language classes, education programs about the Delaware river, and history and culture - not just with their members, but with all who are interested. The Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania has struggled for over 30 years attempting to garner recognition as the remaining indigenous people of Pennsylvania. They have sent delegations and representatives to stand before various committees seeking recognition, beginning in the 1990’s with Chief William Thompson, and continuing as recently as May 1, 2023, when they held a rally on the capitol steps in honor of Tamanend Day. Several Senators, House Representatives, and other officials have pledged their support of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania, but this has yet to lead to action. As the most minor act of reparations for the harm that was historically done to the Lenape people who remained and suffered persecution, discrimination, and forced assimilation within their Pennsylvania homeland for hundreds of years, Pennsylvania should recognize the existence and legitimacy of its indigenous people still residing in the state. Don’t we, as Pennsylvanians collectively, owe our Lenape neighbors at least that much? These indigenous keepers of the lands and waters were forced to hide for much too long and deserve to be recognized and given rights of self-determination as outlined in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights for Indigenous Peoples adopted in 2007. The work the LNPA is doing to not only preserve the true history of the Lenapehokink (Lenape Homeland) but to also invite us all into a more harmonious and peaceful relationship with these lands is crucial at this point in our collective human history. Our Pennsylvania State Legislators MUST affirm the rights and acknowledge the legacy of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania.

Stop Inheritance Fraud by Family Members

I am a victim of inheritance fraud, perpetrated by my own siblings and other family members. This is not just my story, but the story of countless others who find themselves helpless in the face of such betrayal. Inheritance fraud is a growing problem that leaves victims financially and emotionally devastated. According to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), inheritance fraud accounts for over $2.3 billion in losses annually worldwide. In many cases, like mine, victims are left with no options or recourse due to loopholes in laws and lack of awareness about this type of crime. It's time we bring this issue into light and demand stronger legislation against inheritance fraud. We need your help to bring about this change. By signing this petition, you are supporting victims like me who have been robbed by their own family members under the guise of inheritance rights. Install Six Dedicated Pickleball Courts in Cunningham Park, Queens

As active members of the local sports community, we have found pickleball to be an incredibly social and fun sport. It's a game that enables people of all ages to exercise in as little as 20 minutes. This petition is for the installation of six dedicated pickleball courts in Cunningham Park, Queens New York. Our proposal is to convert two of the most westerly tennis courts into six dedicated pickleball courts. We believe this would be the most cost-effective and expeditious way to achieve this goal. Notably, Cunningham Park would not be the first park in Queens to make such a conversion - Crocheron Park successfully transitioned 2 tennis courts into 6 pickleball courts in 2023.The benefits are clear - more opportunities for residents of all ages to engage in physical activity, increased use of public spaces, and fostering community spirit through shared sporting activities.Let's follow Crocheron Park's successful example and bring this popular sport closer home. Please sign this petition if you support our cause for promoting healthful recreational activities within our local communities by installing dedicated pickleball courts at Cunningham Park.

Establish an American Sign Language Major at the University of Iowa

There is a large need for ASL interpreters with only 10,000 registered interpreters in the US and only 75 for the entire state of Iowa. That means there are 50 deaf people for every 1 interpreter. Yet, there is no school in our state that offers a four-year program for American Sign Language (ASL) despite significant interest in such a program. ASL is not just another language; it's a vital means of communication for millions of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals across America.According to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), approximately 15% of American adults report some trouble hearing, which equates to about 37.5 million people aged 18 or over. Many within this population rely on ASL as their primary mode of communication. The University of Iowa has always been an institution committed to inclusivity and diversity. By creating an ASL major program, we can further these values by fostering better understanding and communication between hearing individuals and those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.We urge the University administration to take this into consideration - not only would this be beneficial for students who wish to pursue careers in fields like education, social work or healthcare where knowledge of ASL could be invaluable but it would also contribute significantly towards building more inclusive communities. Please join us in urging the University of Iowa to establish an American Sign Language Major Program. Natatorium for South Metro Denver Region

Currently there is no such facility in this region. The closest facilities are in Northern Denver and farther. Local competitions have to cram in the the Denver University or Air Force Facilities. Space is severely limited for the large need from the local communities. This facility, would be ideally located near I-25 and C470. It would draw use from communities from South Denver all the way down through Colorado Springs. Cities in the region are Littleton, Lakewood, Englewood, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock and More. The Natatorium would draw revenue from competitive events, regional and national competitions, local teams and trainers fees, daily use fees, concessions, team office rentals and more. The facility shall have both indoor and outdoor pools for both short and long course events. Ample deck space for teams to set up. Enough seating above the deck to view events for alll spectators. Setup space for families to spend the day, without hassle. We need this we need this petition to gain strength to approach group such as Southsuburban as possible sponsors for such a facility.

Support The Grazing Tray's Right to Operate in the Same Building as Dewey’s

Samantha, a dear friend and relentless servant of our community, has poured her heart and soul into creating a unique local business called The Grazing Tray. This charcuterie and coffee shop is not just a business; it's an integral part of our Jacksonville community. However, due to an unresolved legal issue with the state ABC commission, this beloved establishment is under threat. The commission has not provided any specific statute indicating any specific laws have been “broken”, but refuses to allow The Grazing Tray to operate in the same building as Dewey’s. Without clear guidance or reasons for this decision, Samantha and her team are left in limbo. If we do not act now, The Grazing Tray may be forced to close indefinitely. This situation isn't just about one business; it's about preserving the vibrant culture of our local economy that businesses like The Grazing Tray contribute to significantly. It's about standing up for small businesses that make Jacksonville unique.Samantha, her staff and loyal “Grazers” meet annually to provide children meals during holidays throughout Onslow County. This alone sets her business apart; not only an amazing employer, but a wonderful business owner and woman of God.We must petition the ABC commission to reconsider their stance on this matter and allow both establishments - The Grazing Tray and Dewey’s - to coexist within the same building peacefully and continue operating. By doing so, we can ensure that Samantha continues serving our community through her passion for food and utmost hospitality.Let us stand together as a community in support of Samantha – sign this petition today! Preserve the Current Design of the Minnesota State Flag

As a proud resident of Minnesota, I am deeply attached to our current state flag. It represents our history, culture, and identity. The new designs that have been proposed are not only unappealing but also seem to disregard the sentiments of many Minnesotans who cherish our existing flag. There is a saying that goes "If it's not broken don't fix it," and this perfectly applies to our situation. We should have a say in any changes made to symbols that represent us as a community. The majority of Minnesotans share this sentiment - in an informal survey conducted among local communities, over 70% expressed their preference for keeping the current design (source: Local Community Survey). This clearly shows that we have spoken! Our state flag is more than just fabric and design; it's part of who we are as Minnesotans. Changing it without broad public support would be disrespectful to those who hold it dear.Join me in voicing your opposition against changing our beloved Minnesota state flag. Let's tell those in power that we love our flag just as it is! Please sign this petition today!

Allow Cannabis Use on Carnival Cruise Lines

I am a passionate cannabis user who believes in its benefits over alcohol. As someone who frequently travels with Carnival Cruise Lines, I have noticed a discrepancy in the acceptance of these two substances. While alcohol is readily available and consumed on these cruises, cannabis use remains prohibited.Cannabis is now legal for recreational use in 18 states and medically legal in 36 states within the U.S., reflecting a significant shift in public opinion and legislative attitudes towards this plant (source: National Conference of State Legislatures). Moreover, studies have shown that it can be less harmful than alcohol when used responsibly (source: Scientific Reports journal). Despite this progress, many companies like Carnival Cruise Lines continue to prohibit its use. This policy not only contradicts the changing societal norms but also limits personal freedom for responsible adults like myself who prefer cannabis over alcohol. Therefore, we call upon Carnival Cruise Lines to review their policies regarding substance use aboard their ships. We urge them to allow responsible cannabis use on their cruise ships where it is legally permitted by port jurisdictions. Please sign this petition if you believe in personal freedom and equal treatment of legal substances aboard cruise lines.
