How to Pack for Your Florida Keys Vacation
Packing cubes can help organize all the clothes you have in mind for your Florida trip. We designed our own brand of slim packing cubes, with a unique color and numbering system, so it’s easy to remember where you’ve packed everything. The video below shows you how!
Learn our hacks with packing cubes in the video above!
We also put together a five-part YouTube series showing the different methods to use packing cubes for travel. If you use this specific packing strategy, packing cubes can also compress your belongings. This is the secret to traveling carry-on only!
When planning your final packing list for vacation, remember to cater your packing choices to what fits your needs. If you plan on wining and dining, bring a cocktail dress. If your idea of fun is in the sun, add a kaftan instead of the extra shorts. Happy travels!

I just got back from the Keys. I had heard it was very laid back and casual, but I still packed a pair of white shorts and a dressy top. I never wore them. We didn’t see anyone dressed up. It was very easy to adjust to the “island life”. We did a couple of fishing excursions, and I would suggest having a large ziploc bag to help contain any smelly clothes you would need to pack into your suitcase. And make sure to bring a hat and have your camera ready for all the beautiful sunsets!

Thank you so much for sharing your packing list for The Keys. My trip isn’t until next April, but I’m already preparing for it. The linen shorts you mentioned are very similar to some linen shorts I bought from Old Navy. They have reasonably priced linen pants and shorts that are super cute. I bought some linen shorts in black and beige. Super comfy and they kept me cool this summer in Indiana. I really liked the sheath linen dress, but sadly it is unavailable at this time.

Question! As and when you use clothes, how will you manage keeping used clothes and fresh clothes together in these cubes?

Hi Winter, you could pack an empty packing cube dedicate just for your dirty clothing so that you keep your clean clothes separate from your dirty ones.
Have a look at this TFG article on how to handle your dirty laundry: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/traveling-with-dirty-laundry/

I don’t think this is a good list for the Keys. For shoes, I’ve never seen anyone wearing pumps. (I’ve been to the Keys twice a year for 18 years). I’d suggest a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandals. A maxi skirt is too warm. Flowy sundresses, sleeveless tops, skorts, shorter skirts, and a light sweater. An umbrella and a small backpack to carry sunscreen and a water bottle. Jeans are almost always too warm. Try linen jogger instead. Or cropped leggings.

I am going to the Keys for the first time the first week of December. I am reading alot of different things on what to wear. Its my husband’s 60th and neither of us have been there. I look at the average weather and it appears to be deceiving from what I’m reading?
